Sardinia

In Sardinia, we signed up for a bus tour which took us around the island, making photo stops at scenic locations.

Cagliari is the capital of Sardinia and is the port where our ship docked.

We saw a number of large ponds similar to these.  They are actually nature preserves.

The water in the nature preserves is only a few feet deep and is there to protect . . .

. . . flamingos.  Although there are only a few in this picture, we were told that in the spring there are 10s of thousands of flamingos in the ponds.
